guardians of Buddhist temples, sitting on both sides of the entrance.
Today, you can find these dogs in front of homes, business, and even
government buildings. They were sculpted after the FooChow
dogs, the original breed of Chows. Because the dogs resemble
lions, the sculptures became guardian lion-dogs in Japan
and guardian
lions in
Korea.
Foo means good luck or happiness in Chinese, making these sculptures
great gifts. Because they always come in a pair, they are also great

weddings.
The female
always is with a pup and the male always have a ball. Foo Dogs are
