Icarus Wings Lamp Light

This lamp with wings is named after Icarus in the Greek mythology, Daedalus and Incarus. Daedalus was a great inventor who worked for ruthless King Minos. When they tried to escape from the cruel king, Daedalus built wings for himself and his son by fabricating wings using feathers and wax. Daedalus warned his son not to fly too close to the sun, as it would melt the wax, and not too close to the sea, as it would dampen the feathers and make it hard to fly. But half way to safty, Icarus became ecstatic and careless. He flew too close to the sun fell to his death, drowning in the sea.

Designed by Tord Boontje and made with mylar, the feathered lamp is very unusual, elegant, and romantic. Due to the nature of this item returns will be accepted on unopened packages only. 31"h x 16"w.
