Game of the Willow Pattern Plate This card game was probably inspired by the fascination Eighteenth Century Britain had with the Far East. It interprets a Chinese story in the same skewed style that was used by Gilbert and Sullivan when they depicted Japan in The Mikado. The cards tell the tragic tale of the Long Weeping Willow, which centers on wealthy suitors who unsuccessfully try to woo the lovely young girl Lu Khat Mee. Unfortunately, she rejects the suitors and defies her father because she was in love with the poor Veri Ni Cee. Each of the cards is numbered from 1 to 30. The object of the game is to make a Tchin. A Tchin is made when the numbers on the cards amount to 1, 11, 21, 31, or 41. Scoring 51 makes a "Tchin-Tchin", or double. 30 cards plus instructions. 3.5" x 4.75" $18.00
