  She was Chinese Vietnamese and he was Chinese Taiwanese. The couple grew up as American as blue jeans and apple pie, but it was their Asian family cultures that they wanted to celebrate with their wedding. They wanted the feel of 1920's Shanghai when China met the Western world. Their favorite color, navy blue, and ever-lasting symbol of Asian bamboo was the theme, while a punch of red gave a hint of the old tradition.

 

 

Save-the-Date

Bamboo garden with Chinese circular entrance, a popular feature in Chinese gardens. Circle symbolizes unity or perfection.

 

 

Wedding Invitation

A strip of peach vellum wrap the card like an Japanese obi sash belts for kimonos, while the navy blue ribbon holds the ends together.

 

 

When this gate folded card is opened, the Chinese invitation is revealed on the right side. Turn the page over, the invitation also becomes a folder with direction card in the left pocket while lodging information and RSVP card sit in the right pocket. In the center, the English invitation text are printed with Bremen and Bank Gothic to add that Art Deco style to this Asian bamboo garden.

Program

Tied with blue ribbon, the program is a scroll, rolled up ends with bamboo chopsticks, symbolizing 2 working together in unity.
