The wedding was to take place at a beautiful
modern restaurant on a pier in New York City, the city where cultural
traditions gather, change, mix, and fuse together. This young
Chinese American couple
didn't want a traditional Chinese banquet, but fusion cuisine at
a modern setting. They wanted the invitation to reflect their modern
taste, but still echo their ethnic background. |

Wedding
Invitation
Made with beige paper with silky texture, the invitation
has a circular vellum in the center, showing the Chinese
character, double happiness, while the insert inside the
invitation peeks through the vellum. Circle symbolizes
unity or perfection while the double happiness indicates
the celebration of marriage.

Inside, the invitation is in Geometric font
for its modern form, and Mistral font to correspond with the
Chinese calligraphy font. On the left, a circular pocket holds
the Chinese invitation, map and direction card, and RSVP card.
Each card has its own Chinese scenery painting of a pier, which
will display beautifully behind the vellum on the cover.
