Asian Hand Painted Silk Folding Fans
Every civilization created their own version
of hand fan, but it was the folding fan that created a fashion
sensation around the world during 1600's. Developed in Japan
and manufactured in China, the fan was first introduced to Spain
then Europe. The material, design, and painting on the
fans became socially significant for the status concious nations.
These fans are hand painted on silk with bamboo staves. Hand
painted in variety of colors; pink, blue, beige, yellow,
red, white, and green, every box has
